The Halifax Regional Municipality built a sewage treatment plant to stop raw sewage from flowing freely into the harbour. Unfortunately after running for a very brief time, it backed up and flooded with...well...you know. Since then, raw sewage is again flowing into the harbour. To prevent what the news insists on calling "floatables" being seen by tourists and residents they have installed screens on the piplines to collect these..."floatables." The collected material needs to be cleaned out daily...MANUALLY. Someone has to scoop out all the...garbage...people flush!

I completely forgot that I had a gmail account. I got it in 2005 and only used it about three times. But oh the spam that was in there. I'm pretty surprised that I still remembered my password, let alone my login, but it's all good I guess.

Also? My paid LJ account expired. I don't know if I want to renew it or not. I don't really know if it's worth it at this point. I do miss my userpics and I'm irritated that it's not my layout on the comments page but I think I can learn to live with that. I don't know. I don't get paid until Friday so after I inevitably buy some new clothes I'll see if I can spare it.

I have a lot of random things to say today. Good? I'm not sure. I've decided to let my nails grow. I have only had long nails for one period in my life. I wanted them for prom/graduation in high school so I let them grow for all of grade twelve. Of course, I broke about four of them two weeks before prom when I went on a school trip to Halifax but that's not the point. The point is that I've let them grow for only about a week and I already feel more girly. That's always a good thing.

My babies are coming home in three weeks! They'll be here for three weeks and we are going to have so much fun. I'm planning on taking Will to the wildlife park -- which is essentially a zoo, just less formal -- and I really want to take him to Margaree so we can go on a whale watching tour. Even if we don't see any whales, he'll love being on the boat. Plus, my dad wants to get a little plastic swimming pool and fill it with little rocks so Will can dig to his hearts content. Seriously. He digs all the time. And my mother has stocked up on trucks for him so all that combined with the pool will make for a busy, entertained little boy. Oh, I also set the DVR to record some Thomas episodes for him. It shall be fun. Chloe doesn't need much entertaining at this point, she'll just go with the flow. Ahhhh, come on August 16th!

I love Flight of the Conchords so very much. I just rewatched the DVDs and can't stop singing this song...

OK, so a ton of people on my flist are big Supernatural fans. A TON. And I've never seen even a second of an episode. All this talk about the show is getting me slightly (only slightly) interested. So here's a question about the show to all the Supernatural lovers on my list -- What are your most favourite and least favourite things about the show? And, if I do start watching, what are the best episodes to get me hooked?

I went to see Superbad Friday night. Oh my. It was possibly the best comedy of the year, if not of all time. That's right. I said it. The comedy itself is solid and both awkward and embarrassing. Michael Cera is so adorable it's got to be against some kind of law. His character really isn't all that different from his character on Arrested Development, George Michael, but he plays it so well that it doesn't even matter. Seth Rogen and Bill Hader played the best cops ever. I really think they need to have their own spinoff movie. They were just awesome.

There's not really anything bad I can say about this movie. It's just wonderful. Well, I guess one bad thing would be that I missed a lot of the dialogue because everyone in the theatre was in hysterics, so I think I need to see it again.. Haha ;) Seriously, everyone needs to see Superbad. EVERYONE.
